the "one of these eight people... is a we'rewolf" tag isn't just a joke, it's an actual line in this fucking awesome trailer for:

THE BEAST MUST DIE

"one of you... is a WEREWOLF!" [cut to him getting body slammed by a wolf]

this movie is actually great. just a bunch of really solid character actors playing assorted weirdos in a mansion, brought together by a charismatic and slightly unhinged rich big game hunter, whose final bucket list item is "bag a god damn werewolf." I wrote about it as part of my big horror movie list, and Sarah has a section of her related video on it here.

but mostly the trailer has just gotten baked into our dialogue now, from "THE WEREWOLF BREAK" to the bizarre way the announcer pronounces "we'rewulf". all trailers should be like this imo. get back to this vibe. make more movies about a bunch of weirdos in a mansion together and one or more of them is a werewolf.

I'm fascinated by the particular kinds of artists cohost attracted. it feels like every week I stumble on someone else doing furry or porn art in a really unique style that on larger websites just sort of gets swamped by people doing more conventional work. there's this little network of people doing experimental work that actually feels in conversation with modern art in a substantial rather than superficial way, and it's really cool.

someone in the replies asked for some examples so I threw some together. your mileage may vary with these recs, I'm leaning towards people who are doing odd and experimental things formally, particularly people who work in traditional/physical media, and a lot of this is weird kink art so browse with care, but here's some folks doing interesting stuff:

@witnesstheabsurd has a really distinctive rendering style

@BlushingYokai and @plushie have lush illustrative styles applied frequently to plush characters and just really uniquely designed ocs

@inkycap's work looks like pulp and queer novel covers from another (bug) dimension
